Why not turn your next get together with friends into a tarot party? Invite a few friends over, set out some snacks, and let me do the rest! (Please note I am based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.)
Tarot parties are best suited to small groups of 4 to 8 friends. Choose between learning tarot basics together in a group, or having each person get a personal, private tarot reading.
Option 1: Learn tarot basics together
Learn the basics of reading tarot cards with a small group of hand-picked friends. We’ll need a kitchen table or similarly cozy gathering space.
You’ll learn about the minor and major arcana, the suits of the pip cards, and the court cards. You’ll learn how to interpret the colours, numbers and symbols on a standard Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. You’ll learn about spreads and how to read them, and how to read for yourself and others. You’ll leave with suggestions and strategies on learning the spectrum of meaning attached to each card so you can continue to practice tarot reading on your own. Duration is approximately 2 hours. No prior knowledge of tarot is required.
Cost: $250, minimum 2 and maximum 8 participants. Contact me for larger group options.
Option 2: Individual tarot readings
This activity is done one-on-one with each participant individually in a private area.
Each person will participate in a private and personal tarot reading. Each reading will be approximately 15 minutes in duration.
Cost: $200 for up to 5 people. Additional participants $35 each.

Where do you hold the workshops?
At your place! No need to go out into the cold, share your space with strangers or find a parking space. Invite a few friends over for a friendly gathering and add a fun workshop to keep everybody engaged and playing together. I’m located in Ottawa, Ontario (in Manotick, specifically) but feel free to fly me to your remote seaside castle or bustling Parisian atelier – I love to travel! 😉
What do I need to provide?
As host, you need to invite a few friends and provide a table and chairs big enough so everyone can sit together. IMPORTANT: for individual readings, a private and quiet spot off to the side is also required. A separate but nearby room is ideal. Snacks are nice, booze is optional, although please note that tarot cards and drinking can lead to unexpected and not always welcome results.
What is your background / training / expertise in this?
I’ve been reading tarot cards professionally for about six years, including for a big tarot site online. I’ve done email readings, one-on-one readings, small parties and large events. I’ve also done online tarot workshops, in-person tarot workshops, and mentored others in tarot reading.
Can you lead a workshop or give readings at a party for a bigger group?
These particular workshops are idea for small groups, usually 8 or less for readings and up to 10 for lessons. For a larger group, see my tarot events page.
Do you do children’s parties or can children attend?
These workshops are geared for adults. Suggested minimum age is 16 years old. Email me at dani@curiouscrone.ca to discuss this in more detail.
Is this good for girls’ night out, stag and doe parties, birthday parties or other special occasions?
Absolutely! All you need to supply is a location with a big table and enough chairs. This is a great way to get together with colleagues outside of the office, to celebrate a milestone, or even for families to work on a crafting or tarot adventure together. About deposits and payments
The price per participant is noted in the individual workshop blocks above. A deposit of $100 is required when you book to reserve your time and date. Payment in full is required before we start the workshop. Pay by cash, PayPal or interac transfer.
A special note about timing
This crone is an early bird and turns into a pumpkin if we run our session too late. Please be prepared to end the workshop part of your event by 10 pm, but of course carry on the merriment without me. Events may be scheduled as early as sunrise, though – I’ll be awake!
