Yesterday was such a fantastic adventure at #Taste

Yesterday was such a fantastic adventure at #TasteofManotick. I was hired by @themanotickvillage to do tarot card readings in exchange for donations to the Manotick Food Cupboard. I met so many lovely people, did more than 65 readings and raised over $400!! And I’m pretty sure the festival is my new favourite tarot vibe. More like this please!!

Had a super fun adventure this morning doing tarot

Had a super fun adventure this morning doing tarot card readings for a seniors’ breakfast sponsored by @rossupportservices at the Manotick legion. Met so many lovely people and absolutely loved connecting with them. (It was also a great practice run for my participation on Saturday in @themanotickvillage Taste of Manotick festival, where I will be reading tarot cards for guests!)

On the way home I walked past @watsonsmillmanotick and had a little fun taking photos of my sign and my favourite building. Setting my intention: Manotick’s favourite tarot card reader!

The Jock River meanders through mostly agricultura

The Jock River meanders through mostly agricultural land in Ottawa’s rural southwest. It’s a unique paddling experience, different from my beloved Rideau and Ottawa rivers, which each have their own vibe. The Jock is small, full of turtles and frogs and otters and herons and other critters, and has these old bridge pilings every kilometre or so where the farmers who lived along one side of the river built bridges to access their agricultural properties on the other side. And now, decades later, nature is slowly reclaiming the remnants of those bridges. One of my favourite spots for a peaceful paddle and a deep breath of nature.

Late summer on the porch weaving on rocks - that’s the good stuff! The rainbow one didn’t turn out quite like I planned when I set out, but the brown linen and cream silk one with the button came out exactly as I had planned. Maybe even a bit better!

Someone in one of my local destash groups was givi

Someone in one of my local destash groups was giving away this gorgeous ribbon holder with wooden spools for free, and I was the only person who expressed any interest. Can you believe it? So I spent the better part of an hour on this rainy Saturday spooling it up with some of my ever-expanding cord collection. Except I don’t want to throw away the newly naked plastic spools either. They’ll come in handy some day, right? But for now I’m putting this pretty rack up on display somewhere, because it’s as pretty as it is functional.
